Imlay PTA needs you!

Volunteering with Imlay PTA is a great way to
find out what’s going on at Imlay and to help students and staff grow.

Note: Anyone who would like to volunteer with students will need to complete the Hillsboro School District volunteer application, which includes background check, vaccine reporting, and fingerprinting. Go to https://www.hsd.k12.or.us/community/volunteering/overview for more information.

PTA Committees

In order to accomplish all of our amazing projects and ideas, we’ve created small groups of people (committees) to help plan and execute some of those ideas. Some committees run year round, others meet two or three times to plan an event.

Note: You don’t have to be a member of the committee to help with an event or project. Many projects have sign-ups for “day-of” or behind-the-scenes volunteering.

Join a Committee!

  • Imlay Carnival

    Volunteer to help organize and run the Imlay Carnival at the end of the school year. You can work with a committee of people to make this beloved event a huge success. Only have time to volunteer an hour to run a station the day of the event? No problem! We would love to have you volunteer any way you can.

  • Eagle Walk & Roll

    Volunteer to help run Imlay’s annual Eagle Walk & Roll. This is our main fundraiser of the year. The event will be held Oct 7th. Only have time to volunteer an hour or so? No problem! We would love to have you volunteer any way you can.

  • Staff Appreciation

    Volunteer to help spoil our AMAZING Imlay teachers! Work with a committee to help assemble gifts, purchase/prep treats, etc. Don’t have a ton of time during the day? We will gladly take donations or collect purchased items to help ensure our Imlay teachers know our appreciation. We would love to have you volunteer any way you can.

  • Art Literacy

    Volunteer to help teach or assist an Art Literacy lesson in your child’s classroom this year. Don’t know how to paint or draw? Our amazing Art Literacy coordinator will help train you so you are confident in delivering the lesson and provide students with an amazing art experience in their classroom. Commitment is about three lessons per school year per classroom.

  • OBOB

    Volunteer to help coach/support an OBOB team at Imlay. The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a great way for students to read new books and share their love of reading. OBOB is for students in grades 3rd-6th. The group meets weekly from November-March

  • Family Fun Volunteer

    Volunteer to help organize and run 3-4 family fun nights we have scheduled throughout the school year. We are expected to have an event in Fall, Winter and Spring connected to one of the monthly PTA general meetings. In addition we hope to host a family Bingo night in December. Help plan and run these events, including set up and take down. This is a great way to pull Imlay families together and give parents/guardians a chance to check out what is going on with the PTA.

    Enjoy taking photos and/or are organized? This could be the best volunteer opportunity for you! Help us provide a yearbook for Imlay students and families to purchase at the end of the school year.

    Want to help out but not sure how or when it works in your schedule? No worries! Just sign up to be a general volunteer to help out with odd tasks here and there when it works best for you and your family.

    Have a 6th grader this year? Join the 6th grade celebration committee to ensure a fun and exciting send off for our 6th graders.

Become a Voting PTA Member

The annual local dues for membership in the Imlay Elementary PTA shall be $13.00 which includes $3.25 to the National PTA, $8.25 to the Oregon PTA, and $1.50 processing fee. Anyone can attend meetings, but membership allows individuals to vote on decisions brought up at meetings. Membership may be purchased anytime throughout the year, but needs to be renewed annually by September 30th to continue to be valid.
